Grand Designs Magazine Feature-Stanley Windmill House

Definitely not your average renovation project-a windmill, duck shed and outbuilding turned into a comfortable home for one in an incredible location.

Featured in Grand Designs Magazine, the story is a review of episode of Grand Designs Australia, with our project in Stanley, Tasmania being showcased.

Despite being faced with many and various challenges on this project, it was important to keep coming back to the central idea and making sure it wasn’t getting lost.

Tourists to Stanley can see this home most clearly from the chairlift to The Nut, a famous geological feature of Stanley, which is probably the best way to see any building.
