Step into the colorful world of Skein Sisters, nestled in the heart of Dulwich Hill—a haven for knitters, crafters, and creatives alike. This vibrant hub of creativity is now an integral part of the local community, but when it came time to build their physical store, they knew they needed something truly special. 

We were commissioned to design a makeover of an existing commercial space, and design a fit out that would not only enhance functionality but also elevate the overall experience for customers and staff alike.

Our mission was to create a commercial fit-out that not only reflected the unique spirit of Skein Sisters but also celebrated the artistry and craftsmanship of their products. Drawing inspiration from garden design, the rich tapestry of colors and textures found in their yarns become the plants, flowers and soft accents. We set out to design a space that was as inviting as it was inspiring.

All on a start-up business budget-no pressure.

Working closely with the Skein Sisters team, we curated every aspect of the fit-out, from the layout and flow of the space to the selection of materials and finishes.

Materials used are all forestry renewable products, low VOC finishes and have a high degree of prefabrication. Energy efficient lighting and ventilation were also a large part of the sustainability considerations.

The end result is a space that not only delights the senses but also reflects our commitment to community, creativity, and sustainability. As you step through the doors, you are greeted by a space that feels like home-a space where creativity knows no bounds and inspiration is always just a stitch away.
